Golfe-Juan is well known internationally for two special reasons
Golfe -Juan is the beginning of the Route Napoleon. It was here, on as the beach, where Napoleon Bonaparte came ashore in 1815 on his return from Elba, and began his march which ended in disaster.
Golfe-Juan is the lower part of a town, and the upper part, Vallauris, is well known for Pottery and for the fact that Picasso came to live there and formed an artists colony. More details
